Breeches

  • Below are the ready to wear breeches in three styles: Venetians (16th century), Dutch Slops and Baggy Breeches.
  • Breeches are made with light weight wool or heavy weight linen and have a linen lining.
  • Breeches are available in four sizes with a 4” adjustable lacing placket in the back, ties at the knee and round wood buttons.  If you would like to have different buttons for the fly, please send them to me.  If you have any questions, please email.
  • Sizes are as follows: Medium (32” to 39” waist), Large (37” to 44” waist), X-Large (42″ to 49″ waist) and a XX-Large (47″ to 54″ waist).
  • If you would rather send me buttons for breeches, please send them to me and I will attach them to the breeches before shipment.   
  • If you need a smaller or larger size than what is stated above, please contact me.

Fabrics currently in stock:

  • Light Weight Wool: Black, Chocolate Brown, Medium Blue, Sky Blue (a period color), Hunter Green, Medium Grey (solid), Light Grey (weave), Dark Grey (weave), Cranberry. 
  • Heavy Linen Fabric – Chocolate Brown, Black, Light Grey or Dark Grey, Indigo, Grass Green.
  • As of February 1, 2026, I now have a Madder Red Wool and Linen color available for breeches.  I have limited quantities of both.  There will be an extra charge for this color.  Please let me know a second color in case the Madder color isn’t available.
  •  Sometimes have other colors in stock that are not listed here. If you are interested in a specific color not listed, please contact me.

VENETIAN BREECHES

These are 16th century breeches and are worn on the hips. There is a 2”wide waistband, wood bead buttons, button fly and matching tie garters built in to the knee bands. These breeches are more fitted than slops and sit primarily on the natural waist. Available in wool or linen.  Breeches are lined with linen. Optional button knee band is available upon request.

DUTCH SLOPS

These are made be worn around the waist (with a low hanging crotch) or at the sternum (with the crotch hanging in the normal position). There is a 2”wide waistband, wood bead buttons, button fly and matching tie garters built in to the knee bands. The breeches are lined with linen.

Medium & Large – $ 120
X-Large & XX-Large – $130

BAGGY BREECHES

These are made according to the pattern for Clothes of the Common People in Elizabethan and Stuart England by Stuart Press. There is a 2”wide waistband, wood bead buttons, button fly and matching tie garters built in to the knee bands.  The breeches are lined with linen.
